Hello. I'm looking for a uniform source, both working and dress uniforms, along with all the badges and accoutrements. Is there an on line source or a catalogue? Thanks.

Hi John i may have a small catalogue with uniforms. We order through A1-Uniforms and they add all the patches we need.

Did anyone think to talk to Nelson at Ontario Council for uniforms.. you should always be trying Ontario Council first for supplies before going outside of SJA

I think council may charge a bit more then other suppliers. I am not sure, I have my uniform supply person and whenever I need something, he gets it. They way I see it, if another source is cheaper... without compromising quality, use it. That being said, council WILL provide you with uniforms that are approved uniforms of somewhat ok quality. Personally, I bought my beret at the Army base, as the quality is much better then the things St. John has. Personal opinion, of course.

here in Windsor we go through A-1 Uniforms they are located in toronto. the uniforms come with all patches on and ready to go. the cost is 19.95 per shirt. for the beret it is around $5 @ the army base (Armoured or Navy is black)

Wow! And to think I paid $20 for my Canadian Forces issue back beret. Oh well. Still more comfortable and much better fitting then the usual ones.

Does anyone have ideas of recruiting? I am working on posters and such for St. John House here in London, and I have placed some ads in community newspapers (they are free for us!) but so far we have gotten two new members. It is a little frustrating at times working with a small division of only about 7 regular members plus a cadet leader and training officer.

I guess I miss the connection of the above message to a discussion on uniforms :-)

I have heard nothing but rumors. And of course, I don't want to speculate on rumors. What's wrong with our uniforms anyway? They are well known throughout the country and makes us look sharp! People think we know what we're doing (and of course we do!)

Martin, what were the rumours you heard about? I don't care if they're just rumours, they obviousally came from somewhere so there has to be a link :-)

I have heard we are supposedly going to golf shirts. Again, it is just a rumour! You will NOT see ME in a golf shirt on duty, ever! I refuse to look like everyone else, when the purpose of being in a uniform is to stand out. EVERYONE ELSE is wearing a golf shirt. So, I will continue to wear my regular white shirt, with patches and my pen neatly in the pocket. I haven't heard any more of this so I am not sure what they plan on doing, but I have heard some units are already wearing golf shirts. Why? Again, I cannot put much stock in rumours and heresay so we'll see what happens.

Uniform crests have changed and we now have black uniform shirts for AMFR members. Council is apparently looking to change suppliers in the new year. - Red uniforms have also been introduced for the car seat safety team
